Kettl Producer Series: The Third Wave of Matcha with Masayoshi Koyama - Los Angeles
When our Kettl Matcha Sen Mon Ten space opened in November 2025, the highlight of the weekend was hosting Masayoshi Koyama of Yamamasa Koyamaen for a series of classes and events on the evolving matcha industry in Japan and the global boom. The opportunity to learn from — and share in — the lived experience of a fifth-generation tea maker was something we had long dreamed of bringing to our community.
After the New York events, both Koyama-san and Kettl founder Zach Mangan agreed that we needed to bring this experience to our customers in Los Angeles. With that in mind, we are excited to announce two limited engagements in our private event space in the Arts District on April 4th.
“The Third Wave of Matcha” session will begin with an introduction to Uji Matcha & Yamamasa Koyamaen before diving into Masayoshi Koyama’s innovative and future-forward concept. Koyama-san will lead a guided tasting exploring several teas from the Yamamasa collection while sharing his family’s vision for an evolving industry. This class is perfect for guests familiar with matcha who are ready to explore new approaches, aromatic expressions, and modern flavor profiles.
